Build on your skills from the beginning class. New skills taught include hemming techniques, stay stitching, clipping and trimming techniques, zippers, darts, sleeves, and more. Prerequisite: Sewing: Beginning, or teacher permission.
Bring your own sewing machine and heavy extension cord to class.
Projects: Zippered wallet and zippered hoodie.
Supply List:
Bring a sewing machine with bobbin
basic sewing kit which includes fabric shears, pins, hand sewing needles, pin cushion, measuring tape, seam gauge, seam ripper.
All purpose sewing thread to match your projects.
You will also need a zipper foot for your sewing machine.
Zippered Wallet Requirements:
Kwik Sew 4299 pattern
1/4 yard outer fabric
1/4 yard lining fabric
one 7" zipper
3/8 yd ribbon (optional)
Hoodie Requirements:
McCall's M8054 pattern
2 3/8 yards of sweatshirt fleece or french terry fabric (make sure the fabric is 60" wide)
3/4 yard of contrasting jersey knit fabric
Matching thread
1 pkg 1/2" twill tape
1 1/2" yards of nylon cord or shoelace
One OPEN ENDED zipper 24" long
1/2 yard of rib knit fabric (optional)
