Start with the basics. Learn hand sewing and the mechanics and care of your sewing machine. Move on to seam finishes, casings, hems, ruffling, pockets, and button holes. Make a holiday pillowcase, a pair of pajama pants, stockings, and handmade ornaments.

Please bring your own sewing machine, heavy duty extension cord, and supplies.

Supply List:

Project 1: Pillowcase

¾ yard cotton woven fabric

1/3 yard coordinating print for top band

(double the amounts to 1 ½ and 2/3 if you want to make a set of 2 standard pillowcases)

Project 2: PJ Pants -

Simplicity Pattern #2290 or Simplicity Pattern S9219

Yardage depends on the size of pattern you are making, but at MOST you will need 2 3/4 yd

1 1/4 yards of 1" wide elastic

Project 3: Stocking -

Pattern Revolution Free Cuffed Stocking Pattern (print out and piece together)

1 yard cotton woven fabric (or 1 1/2 yards is using a directional fabric)

1/2 yard of contrasting fabric for applique and ruffle

1/2 yard pellon fusible fleece 987F interfacing

(optional) Bias tape to match

Ornament: Two pieces of craft felt

color of choice Embroidery floss to match
