Supply List:
The first night of class you will need to bring a watercolor paint set (paint tubes recommended), however a beginner watercolor set will work just fine, either tubes or cakes. Suggested colors: alizarin crimson, phthalo blue, ultra marine blue, paynes gray, medium yellow or indian yellow, cadmium red, burnt umber, sap green, and any other colors you would like.
round watercolor brushes (medium size 4 or 6 and large sizes 8, and 12)
flat watercolor brush in size 4, 6, or 8
liquid masking fluid
painting board (to stretch paper and paint on) about 16"x20"
watercolor palette
watercolor paper in single sheets or paper block ( 140 pound cold press)
water container
drawing pencil #2 (school pencil works best)
kneaded eraser
tape
paper towels.
Stores have the paint sets at around $15.00 and you can get watercolor paper for about $7.00 a sheet for the 300 lb or a block for about $15.00. The heavier the paper weight the better the result.
