Start with the basics and learn hand sewing and the mechanics and care of your sewing machine. Move on to seam finishes, casings, hems, ruffling, pockets, and buttonholes.
Make a pillowcase, a pair of pajama pants, and a tote bag.
Please bring your own sewing machine, heavy duty extension cord, and supplies.
Supply List:
Project 1: Pillowcase
¾ yard cotton woven fabric
1/3 yard coordinating print for top band
(double the amounts to 1 ½ and 2/3 if you want to make a set of 2 standard pillowcases)
Bring some all-purpose thread to match.
Project 2:
PJ Pants - Simplicity Pattern #2290
Amount of fabric will be discussed in class.
Project 3: Tote Bag
5/8 yard cotton woven fabric
7/8 yard coordinating fabric to be used for the bag lining and base.
