TAPESTRY: LEVEL 1

Learn the fine art of hand-woven tapestry. Build a small, portable tapestry loom that is easy and fun to take anywhere. Learn tapestry weaving: warp, weft, beat, butterfly, twine, pass, half-pass, dovetail, and Soumak.

Supplies:

Small yarn balls 2-4 oz. cotton or wool yarn, size: worsted weight, medium 4 or cone 8/5 yarn (all of these are about the same thickness just different ways to measure) in 4 contrasting colors so you can easily see your work (you can do more color choices if you like).  Buy nice quality yarn. This is your art and nice yarn makes a difference. Avoid slippery yarn or overly stretchy yarns. If you want to try fun novelty yarns that is great!;

One or two chopsticks for "beating" yarn down;
