CAPITOL REEF: WATERCOLOR WEEKEND

Have fun while you watercolor in the sun at Capitol Reef National Park! Learn what to look for before you start a painting, how to set up a painting using composition and balance, and how to work with the water to improve your painting style. Participants stay at the UVU Field Station and food will be provided. Participants will need to bring their own watercolor supplies. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting the week before. Supply List Watercolor Paper: Pre cut for plein air painting, 6-8 sheets no larger than 12” x 16” Plastic palette, large 10 ½” x 10 ¼”, or small 8” x 8” when opened Paint Red, yellow, blue, orange, green, violet. Pre laid out in your palette Brushes True watercolor brushes, variety of sizes in round and flat ferruled Water containers- 2 plastic Pencil, eraser, tape, and board on which to mount watercolor paper Tripod on which to mount the board Folding chair and table for holding supplies Notebook Camera
